Technology

The Technology track allows students who have an interest in the area of tech to explore all of the possibilities that exist for tech entrepreneurs. Youth get a more in-depth understanding of the development side of starting a tech business. The Technology track guides teens through the hard and soft skills that are needed to launch a successful tech business. Teens with interest in this track will work creating business concepts that fall under the technology industry in the areas such as: an app and website developer, computer programmer, and technology consultant. Independent Youth’s successful teen tech entrepreneur Jaylen Bledsoe will lead this track, coaching participants in the development of their business idea.

Fashion

The Fashion Track focuses on youth who are interested in building a business related to the fashion industry. The track will focus of topics such as creativity and innovation, raising capital, unique sales and marketing techniques along with the soft skills needed to run a successful creative organization. Teens with interest in this track will work creating business concepts that fall under the fashion industry in the areas such as: a stylist, clothing and accessory designer and retail shop owner. Independent Youth’s successful teen entrepreneur Lily Sandler will lead this track, coaching participants in the development of their business ideas.

Consumer Goods

The Consumer Goods Track is a broader track where participants can explore building an array of new businesses. In this more generalized track, youth will develop unique business ideas or services based on their individual passions. The Consumer Goods/Service track will also help teens understand the process of product development to distribution. Teens with interest in this track will work creating business concepts that do not fall into the other two tracks of fashion and technology.

Parent.Up

As a part of Sprout.Up, there will also be parent sessions held throughout the day. Parent.Up sheds light onto the world of teen entrepreneurship and the roles parents can play to support the visions of their budding teen entrepreneurs. The Parent.Up sessions are led by parents of successful teen entrepreneurs from various backgrounds and industries. Additionally, Parent.Up will provide guidance for parents looking to support their teens in their entrepreneurial journeys while helping them go to the next level of success; covering all sides of what it means to be a parent of a teen entrepreneur, including how a business may affect family dynamics, work/life balance, entry into the spotlight, and being a supportive mentor.
